Have you seen that brand at Sephora or on Instagram with the adorable packaging and fruit themed products? That’s Glow Recipe! This skincare line is based off of K-beauty trends and innovations. This is my favorite brand at the moment. Everything from their products to their mission is so amazing. Their products are clean, cruelty free and free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates. Their social media and customer service is one of the best that I have ever seen from a company. In 2020, they launched a community Instagram page called “@realglowgang” as a place for the “glow gang” to interact, share experiences and make friends. Another awesome experience I have had with them is that I purchased their at-home spa kit and they are doing a live zoom class for everyone who purchased the kit to go through how to use it and as an opportunity to connect with their customers.
Now, let's get into the products and what you should spend your money on.
Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask - This sleeping mask is a weird texture at first as it is a jelly feel but once you put it on it is super lightweight, not sticky or greasy. I really like to put this on before bed especially because it doesn't smudge onto your pillow or stain it. It is hydrating and you wake up with a nice glow in the morning!
Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer - I really like this moisturizer. I think it is a great summer moisturizer and definitely hydrates my dry skin. I probably wouldn't use it as much in the winter months but I have been using this in the summer and it has been working great. As with all of the watermelon products they smell great. It isn’t an artificial nauseating smell, it’s subtle and smells so nice.
Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner - This is the newest product from Glow Recipe and it is definitely one of my favorites now. I didn’t really use toners often but this toner is so gentle and hydrating for dry skin. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or strip it of its oils. It is super gentle. I highly recommend this toner. Oh and yes it smells amazing.
Watermelon Glow Lip Pop - I absolutely love this product. This is the first Glow Recipe product that I ran out of. It is a scrub to balm formula that exfoliates and hydrates your lips. You don’t need to wash it off or anything. It goes on feeling like a scrub (but gentle) then turns into a super soft and hydrating lip balm. It also matches the PH of your lips so it could be a slightly different pop of pink every time. This is my favorite product!
Watermelon Glow Ultrafine Mist - This is a watermelon hydrating spray that smells and feels so good. I really like to use this after I do my whole skincare routine just to top it off and feel refreshed. I would definitely repurchase this product when I run out of it.
Avocado Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask - Moving onto the next fruit… This product really smells and feels like avocados. I especially like the eye sleeping mask because it is very hydrating under my eyes. I wouldn’t use this product everyday but whenever I need an extra boost of hydration under my eyes I will use this!
Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask - Once again this product really feels like avocados which I love. It feels so nice going on my skin as it is creamy and soft. I like the idea that it is a retinol as it is good to have one in your skincare routine. It is very gentle which is a great way to ease into retinoids as they can be very strong. I will definitely be using this product more.
Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser - this is another one of my favorite products. I was nervous to try it out because some cleansers can really strip my skin of oils and make my face even drier. After trying this for about two weeks, I can say that it did not dry my skin out. After using it my face feels really hydrated before even putting moisturizer on. It doesn't make your skin feel tight or dry.
Banana Souffle Moisture Cream - I love this moisturizer! It smells just like bananas and it is very hydrating. What I love most about this product is that it feels nice and soothing on my skin. It is very lightweight and not greasy so it is great to put on before bed.
Pineapple-C Bright Serum - I saved this product for last because it is definitely my least favorite. First thing wrong with this product is the smell. It smells like bad licorice and just does not smell like Pineapples to me. The next problem is that it is very sticky. I try to apply it and it’s just so sticky on applying and even after you apply it. I honestly wanted to wash it off right when I put it on. This is a pass for me.
All in all, I really do love Glow Recipe. They have amazing products and I respect the brands values and background. When they come out with more products I will definitely be purchasing them.
Let me know if you have tried any Glow Recipe Products!
Love always,
K
