Brand Review: Jeffree Star Cosmetics

Jeffree Star. How do I even begin this article about my idol? Jeffree Star came from nothing. He built himself, built his brand to become one of the most successful beauty moguls ever. Jeffree is unapologetically himself. He doesn’t care what others think about him, he doesn’t need anyone's approval. He does what he wants to do and doesn’t let anyone tear him down and trust me, many people have tried. Don’t you think that a lot of us need to learn something from this attitude? So many people are obsessed with what other people are doing and judge them and hate on them. I always say “just be like Jeffree” and don’t care what the haters say. You may think that with this type of attitude he is a mean, intimidating or selfish person but that is just the opposite of who he is. He is so generous and caring to not only the people in his life but to his fans. Whether he is doing a giveaway on his youtube or just cash-apping people in need, he is so generous.

Now that you know a bit about the person, here is some information about Jeffree Star Cosmetics. The first thing you need to know is that Jeffree will not ever put out a bad product. He isn’t all about “getting coin.” He wants to create amazing products that actually work. He will never scam the customer and make his products at a reasonable price. In the Shane x Jeffree series on Youtube, Jeffree talks about how other brands make cheap products that are so cheap to make and the markup is so high. He makes his products with high quality and at a fair price. Most of his products are made in the USA. All high quality products here! 

In 2014, Jeffree Star released three liquid lipsticks for his new brand. These Velour Liquid Lipsticks are the staple of his company as they were the first products. They are vegan and cruelty free. The formula is AMAZING, it dries as a matte finish and is long lasting. My favorite velour liquid lips are “Mannequin” “Christmas Cookie” and “Oh My God.”  He also makes “Lip Ammunition” which is a lipstick formula, as well as velour lip liners. All of these formulas are great and his wide array of colors makes it easy for any skin tone to wear! Velour lip scrubs are such a great product from Jeffree Star Cosmetics. They are to be used before you apply lipstick to exfoliate and make sure your lip product goes on smoothly. These products are edible and smell amazing! Yes, you read that right, you can literally eat them. I love “Blue Raspberry Sucker.” My favorite lip products are “The Gloss.”  I am such a gloss person I will wear it alone or over lipstick. I just love lip gloss so when Jeffree came out with these I had to get one! I literally wear “Control Freak” every day. 

Next up is his eyeshadow palettes EEEKKK!!! These are my all time favorite products ever. I can go on and on about these palettes so they are going to need their own article. Currently, Jeffree has ten eyeshadow palettes. His first being Beauty Killer and the brand new one being Cremated. All of his palettes are amazing. The formulas are so pigmented, creamy and apply so nicely. There is not one bad palette he has made. 

No one does highlight like Jeffree Star. If you want to be seen from outer space you better use some JSC highlight! He first came out with the skin frost which is the most basic highlighter (yet still amazing formula). I like to use this one when I don't want a super obnoxious highlight. Next is the supreme frost which is a different formula that is even more blinding! The highest pigment is the extreme frost which is insanely blinding. There are also the liquid frosts if you are looking for a liquid highlight! If you are looking to get a few different highlighters, look to his skin frost palettes! 

Face products. Jeffree currently has the Magic Star Concealer which is a high coverage formula with 30 shades. Pair this with the Magic Star Setting Powder that comes in 8 shades. I love the translucent shade. It is ultrafine and blurring! 

Accessories are a girl’s best friend! I love all of the accessories Jeffree Star Cosmetics has. The makeup bags are the best! Not only are they cute but they are sturdy and hold so much. They have multiple shapes and sizes. I love them all for travel! He also has iconic star hand mirrors which are perfect if you need to look at your makeup up close. 

So yes, Jeffree Star Cosmetics is most definitely my favorite makeup brand if you couldn’t tell. I can’t wait to get and review all of his new products coming out this year. What's your favorite product from Jeffree Star Cosmetics?
