Do you have a closet full of clothes and looking to make some extra cash? Sell, sell, sell! Poshmark is my favorite selling app. It is so easy to use. Here is what you need to do in order to make money off of your clothes.
The first step is to go through your closet. Sort through the things you want to keep and the ones you want to get rid of. Well-known brands are the ones that sell the most on Poshmark. Some of them include, Free People, Nike, Lululemon, Zara, and Topshop. Basically if it has a brand name on it, it will sell. Also, you need to look at the condition it is in. Items that have tags on them are more lucrative. If it has a stain on it but you still want to sell it you need to disclose this in your post. If I come across an item from Forever 21 that does not have tags and I know was really cheap, I will just donate it because I feel as though those aren't even worth listing.
Once you have your poshmark profile setup, listing and buying is so easy! Here are some helpful beginner tips to make your first sale.
The shot - In order for potential buyers to even look at your listing, you want to make sure that you take a great photo of the product. It should be a clear photo with good lighting to show it off. I take photos of every angle of the product for example the front, back and sides. You also may want to emphasize important details such as Zippers. If the item has any problems, you want to make sure you take photos of it too so the buyer knows what they are getting. Another helpful tip is to take photos in “square mode” as that is what poshmark accepts.
Titles - For buyers to find your listings, titles are important. You want to make sure that you have the name of the product as well as the brand in the title. Another important aspect of the listing is the description. In the description you want to reiterate the name and brand and include the size of the item. You also may want to include measurements and type of material.
Share - Share, share, share. You want to share the listings in your closet at least once a day so it comes to the top of the brand page. You also want to share other people’s listings in hopes that they will share yours back. This will show up on their followers feed and give your listings more exposure. The more you share, the more exposure.
Attend parties! - You can also share your listings to parties. Poshmark has three parties a day based on different brands and types of items. If you have items in your closet that fit these party descriptions then share it to the party for others to see.
Host picks - Each party on Poshmark has “hosts.” These are Poshmark Ambassadors who pick out the best listings they see in the party. If your listing gets a host pick, it goes to a special, smaller page in the party.
There are many aspects of Poshmark that are very helpful to sellers. You want to make sure that you stay active on the app and share your listings in order to gain more exposure. It is a great way to make some extra cash and even buy items at a lower price.
