Self-Tanning Must Haves

After years of getting burnt, crying about how my skin is peeling and getting sun poisoning, I’ve had enough. About three years ago I had an epiphany about the sun with the help from my idol, Jeffree Star. Jeffree always stresses the importance of SPF and protecting your face and skin from the sun. Does anyone really want premature aging? I know I don’t. Aside from how sun damage can make your skin look aged, you need to be afraid of skin cancer.

I realized that sitting out and scorching my skin in the sun just isn't working for me. Not only was I burning and peeling but I didn't have much patience to sit outside for hours. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of spray tans as I thought they made me look super fake. I did some research and found from Youtuber Casey Holmes that she loves the Loving Tan self-tanner. I ordered a bottle to try it out.

I purchased the Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse in shade “Dark” and never looked back. I love how natural and easy this self-tanner is. It does not make you look orange and it is buildable so if you want to go a little lighter or darker you can! Unlike spray tans, this Loving Tan mousse is not sticky. I usually wait about 3 minutes to put clothes back on and can go right to sleep! It does not smudge or anything. Many self-tanners and spray tans smell so strong. I barely can smell anything with this product. This product is also great to use on your face. I like to apply it with a flat top foundation brush, I use the Morphe M439 Deluxe Buffer brush. Loving Tan is my favorite tanner by far. I used it for my high school prom, graduation and all important events. It looks so natural and I always get so many compliments!

Loving tan is sold at Ulta as well as on lovingtan.com. I recently started purchasing it through Ulta so I can save up some points for rewards! I also use the loving tan self tanner mitt but any tanning mitt will do. This is my go-to tanner!

A new way to tan that I have recently tried is the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops. You can pick these up at Sephora or theisleofparadise.com. These drops are great if you want a subtle, easier and gradual tan. All you have to do is mix them in with your moisturizer and apply! I will note that a very important step when using things is to make sure that you get every part of your face. Since the drops aren’t brown like the Loving Tan mousse, you can not see if you got every part of your face. Just keep this in mind. Besides that, I like these drops. They are easy to use and they definitely make my face tan. You also could use this on your body with a body lotion, it would probably just take a little longer.  I started off with the “medium” and also picked up the “light” for when I want a lighter subtle tan. Here is a step by step guide on how to use these tanning drops.

  1. Place your favorite moisturizer in your hand

  2. Add 1 to 12 drops to the moisturizer. I like to use 4-5 drops but it depends how dark you want your tan to be.

  3. Mix them together and apply it all over your face

  4. Wash your hands. Since you are applying it with your hands sometimes if you don’t wash it off good it can turn your hands brown.

  5. Show off your glow!

These drops are so easy to use and you will not regret purchasing them!

Those are my top two favorite self tanners. I am looking to try the Bondi Sands tanner as well and I will of course, post a review! Stay bronzed, babes.

Love Always,

K
