Summer Beauty Must Haves

After two long semesters of school, summer is finally here! Many girls want to switch up their beauty routines to compliment the summer heat. No one wants to be wearing heavy cakey foundation at the beach. If you don’t want to totally go makeup-less, here are some beauty tips and products that are perfect for hot Summer days! 

Concealer: 

In the summer, the lighter the product, the better! So instead of wearing a heavy thick concealer, I like to switch to either the Jeffree Star Cosmetics MagicStar Concealer ($22) or the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer ($6). Both of these concealers are light and don’t add much weight to your face. 

Foundation:

I’m not the biggest fan of foundation in the summer. The only reason I like to wear foundation in the Winter is to make myself look tanner, which you can do naturally with the summer sun! Before going to the beach, or laying out by the pool, I like to put on CC cream. CC cream is a lighter texture foundation with SPF and moisturizing properties that are made to even out facial skin tones. It feels weightless on your skin and looks fabulous! The CC cream that I prefer is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream ($39). This product is color correcting, anti-aging with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB protection. CC cream, rather than regular sunscreen, is a great alternative because it is less harsh on your skin and gives you some extra color. It’s very important to load up on sunscreen in the summer, especially on your face to prevent skin cancer and aging, so why not look good while protecting your skin?

Bronzer:

If I’m feeling a little pale or uneven, I like to use my all-time favorite bronzer, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($16). Sometimes, I just wear bronzer without any CC cream, just to give my face an extra glow! If you are going to the beach or pool, there are options for a waterproof bronzer too. In the past, I’ve used the Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer ($30), which works great if you are having fun in the sun! 

Mascara: 

Mascara is a staple in every girl’s beauty collection. On hot days, I always tend to use waterproof mascara, even if I’m not planning on going swimming. One of my favorite waterproof mascaras is the Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara ($23). This mascara not only lengthens, curls, volumizes, and conditions your lashes, but it’s perfect for the Summer heat. With this mascara, your lashes will look great all day long, even on the most humid Summer day! A new favorite of mine is the Milk Makeup KUSH Waterproof Mascara Mini ($12). The regular KUSH mascara is what I am currently using so the Waterproof version I love to use in the summer.

Moisturizer:

Skincare is the most important step to a flawless makeup look. Personally, I think the best moisturizer for the summer is the Tatcha Water Cream ($68). This product may be expensive, but it is definitely worth every penny. The Water Cream is an oil-free, anti-aging formula that releases a burst of skin-improving Japanese nutrients, powerful botanicals, and optimal hydration for poreless-looking skin. This light and airy cream will help you achieve your ultimate goal of flawless summer skin!

The warmer weather brings desires for different types of looks and products. These were my summer staples that can handle the hot summer sun. If you decide to go all-natural or full glam, you will look amazing!
